What are you building for your health?

Hi Reader,

If you learn one thing today, let it be this:

When you hit midlife, things shift.

Your sleep. Your schedule. How you feel in your body.

Kids need you. Parents need you. Work somehow keeps finding more things for you to do.

And your health gets whatever is left.

So when you decide it’s time to take care of your health, you do what you know.

Eat “clean.”
Slash and burn calories.
Add more cardio.
Try to work out every day.

For a couple weeks, you push through.

Then you’re tired. Hungry. Missing workouts. Wondering why taking care of yourself feels like another full-time job.

Eventually, you stop.

A few months later, you start again.

What exactly are we building here?

Because a short stint of punishing yourself, followed by going back to not thinking about your health, isn’t much of a long-term plan.

And this matters to me beyond weight loss.

My mom developed dementia at only 56.

Watching her decline changed how I think about the future. I want my clients to feel good now AND build health they can carry into the years ahead.

That includes their brains.

Being physically active, making healthy food choices, and managing conditions like high blood pressure support long-term health and may help reduce dementia risk.

That isn’t a guarantee. But it gives us something worth working on beyond the next five pounds.

So we need a different approach.

Add foods that help you build balanced, satisfying meals.

Build exercise into your actual schedule - movement you can repeat, strength you can build, and cardiovascular fitness you can improve over time.

Take sleep and stress seriously instead of expecting yourself to keep grinding through everything.

And learn how to adjust when life interrupts.

Because it inevitably will. (But I don’t think I need to tell you that😂)

You want a future where you’re walking around with your grandkids, joining in, and enjoying yourself.

Let’s build toward that.

This is why my 4P Protocol brings together Physiology, Psychology, Performance, and a personalized Plan.

Your nutrition matters. So does what happens when motivation drops. So does finding movement you can realistically build on.

I recorded a full YouTube video walking through this approach and how it looks with my clients.
