2 Minute MondayHi Reader, I just babysat my niece and nephew in law for a few days this past week and it made me appreciate one of my favorite things even more when it comes to my health - my routine! And made me think "am I ready for kids???" Anyway, here is this weeks 2 Minute Monday. Hope you enjoy! Beating Brain Fog A study that dropped in April of this years backs everything I talk about when discussing brain fog and how to beat it. "Diet and dietary components can influence brain fog by regulating inflammation, modulating gut microbiota, and affecting sleep quality." The study states that working in anti-inflammatory foods and following a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants (like berries and vegetables), and gut healthy foods shows a direct correlation with decreased fog. This is due to a multitude of factors including an enhanced gut lining and microbiome, fighting off free radicals in the body, and reduction in neuroinflammation (also a key contributor to Alzheimer's disease). You can see the full study here. This year I have been very intentional about getting off of social media as much as I can - sometimes that is really hard! Especially because we have these devices with us all. the. time. Logging out of the social media and phone games and pushing your brain to break habits and learn is HUGE for dementia prevention and overall happiness in life. I have been able to get more reading done than ever and cover more books than ever this year because I have replaced my phone with real books and - this 👇 Big thank you to Shortform for sponsoring todays 2MM - it helps me keep this info coming to you on a high level! If you are a child of dementia and struggle pushing yourself to do more - or at least more for your health - here is a thought process that helped me train for my marathon, push through my hardest days, and put in the work on my business when I didn't want to. I would think "My mom would trade anything to be out running right now, I can't take this run for granted" "I know my mom would hate to see me giving in to this disease... I can shake today off, tomorrow will be better" "If I don't do this work, there is no redeeming factor to my moms illness, I have to keep working to help others fight back where she couldn't" Thinking this way is hard and not for everyone, but it has helped me push forward in life, and I hope it can help you too. Thanks for reading another edition of 2 Minute Monday. If you learned something - let me know! If you are taking care of your brain health - good for you! And if you need help, you know where to find me! Much love and have a good week, Tyler Try my favorite brain health supplement for 20% off: Conserve PS |
